Pair of Gaetano Sciolari for Mazzega Table Lamps

Pair of architecturally designed lamps, the result of a collaboration between lighting master Gaetano Sciolari and the prestigious glass firm Mazzega. Each piece consists of a cubic chrome-plated steel base with horizontal incised details that provide an industrial and rationalist rhythm.

 Resting on the pedestal is a solid block of hand-blown Murano glass. The glass features a white opaline base that fades into transparency toward the top, where cobalt blue glass inclusions are suspended in the shape of stalactites or inverted drops. A masterpiece of 1970s Italian design that balances the coldness of chrome with the organic warmth of art glass.
