Set of 12 Saint Clément Keller & Guérin Asparagus Plates

A historic set of twelve specialized asparagus service plates, the work of the renowned French manufactory Saint Clément Keller & Guérin. These pieces are a sublime example of early Art Nouveau, characterized by their three-dimensional relief design that simulates two white asparagus stalks with purplish tips resting on the earthenware.

The cream-toned background is ornamented with polychrome chrysanthemums in vibrant shades of pink, yellow, and green, hand-painted with great naturalism. The scalloped edge and relief decorations of floral motifs and scrolls complete this utilitarian work of art.
